ADOPTABLE AREA: All of NJ including areas along Rt. 195 corridor into PA. We established this adoptable area for the safety and convenience of our "Giants", Foster Homes and Adopters. We thank you for understanding that locations outside of these areas are not normally considered for adopting a "Giant" from AAT. Although, we sometimes adopt a baby to their forever home outside of our normal adoption area; it is at our complete discretion.
Thank you for your interest in adopting a Giant Breed dog from All About Them, Giant Breed Rescue (AAT)! Please visit our "Dogs"page, which has a link to Pet Finder where you can find details about the dogs that we have available for adoption.
There are four steps to the adoption process:
1. All potential adopters must complete an Application to Adopt. Please e-mail houndsberg@aol.com to request an application. Send the application to the address at the top of the form.
2. We will be contacting the vet and personal references you provide us with, so please advise them accordingly.
3. A volunteer with schedule a home visit, so that we can meet you and see where the “Giant” will live. It is also required that all members of your family be present.
4. Once you have completed the approval process, we will contact you to confirm whether you have been approved to adopt, and schedule a time for you to come meet the orphans available for adoption.
It will be necessary to bring your whole family, including dogs residing in your household, to meet the Giant you intend to adopt.
The complete application process takes about 2-3 weeks from the date we receive your application, depending on the availability of our volunteers and scheduling a visit when your family is home. The adoption fee is $395 for any spayed/nuetered dog in our rescue and $495 for any spayed/nuetered & ***tacked dog. Our “adoption fee” goes directly to our vet’s office for their continuing and loving care of our “Giants”.
***Many Giant Breeds are very suseptible to "Bloat" which is a condition in which the stomach swells with gas and then flips. After flipped it cuts off circulation to many other organs and untreated causes certain death. We highly recommend "tacking" those dogs prone to bloat during their spay/nueter surgery to prevent the stomach's ability to flip and prevent a life saving emergency surgery that can cost up to $9000.
“All About Them” Fencing Policy
All fencing issues are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If an adoption applicant is unable to provide a safe, fenced area for a “Giant”, in some cases “All About Them, Giant Breed Rescue” may decline your application. We do prefer fenced in yards - or play areas. Our review of all notes, after the home visit and our interviews with you - is a strong basis for our decision. Several of us have been meeting potential adopters for many years; we often know from speaking with potential adopters if they are going to be truly dedicated to walking their “Giant” - Afterall, we want you to be happy as well as our “Giant”!
We look forward to meeting and working with you! Thank you for caring about our “Giants”,
Sincerely,
Linda Gress
